Electric-vehicle battery management

The brief

An electric-vehicle company needed an application layer and a communication path to its controller.

What we built

A Flutter mobile application used as the dashboard for electric golf cars, and a battery management system (BMS) management application. Dart RPC and bulk data-transfer layers, in the style of Pigweed's pw_rpc / pw_transfer, for communication with the embedded controller, with architecture notes.

Postpartum health-behaviour research application

The brief

A health-technology company running a publicly funded postpartum health research project needed its participant-facing mobile application built.

What we built

A Flutter application for iOS, Android and web supporting postpartum health-behaviour research: consented onboarding with OIDC login, research surveys including a social-network questionnaire, a threaded peer-support forum with anonymous posting and reactions, role-gated admin features, EN/EL localisation, light/dark theming, and on-device daily reminders. Delivered alongside the client's project deliverables and progress reporting.

In-house product

Alongside client work, Synplus builds its own software. Publishing it under the company's own name is the purpose of the company's Apple Developer Program enrollment.

Carlytics

What it is

Carlytics is an OBD-II telemetry recorder for iOS and Android. It connects to an ELM327-compatible Bluetooth adapter (Bluetooth Classic SPP on Android, ExternalAccessory/MFi on iOS), discovers which PIDs a vehicle actually supports, and records sampled channels to a local SQLite database, including while backgrounded. It supports multiple vehicles on one adapter and exports recordings as CSV. Scope is statistics and sensors; diagnostic trouble codes are out of scope.

How it is built

It is a Dart pub workspace with a pure-Dart core (PID catalog, decoder, scheduler, derived channels, CSV export), separate persistence and transport packages, and a Pigeon platform-interface contract with per-platform Android and iOS implementations, topped by a Flutter app. Dependency direction between packages is enforced by test.
